As part of several changes to existing traffic court policies, the Wake County District Attorney’s Office announced last week that it would begin consenting to the entry of a Prayer for Judgment Continued (PJC) in Speeding in a School Zone cases where the following criteria is met:
§ The driver was charged with going no more than 15 mph over the post school zone speed limit
§ The driver has no other traffic violations within 3 years
§ The driver has no prior charges for Speeding in a School Zone
§ The driver completes community service at the direction of the judge or magistrate
A Prayer for Judgment Continued (PJC) is a unique thing to North Carolina but it could mean zero insurance points and zero DMV points if you are able to get one.
