Attorney Kristi Haddock successfully advocated for one of our clients who was charged with failing to stop for a stopped school bus. The statute that governs requires that the officer testify at trial that he saw the words "School Bus" plainly visible on both the front and rear of the bus.
Due to the specific requirement in the statue, if the officer does not turn around and look at both the front and rear of the bus, the person charged should be found not guilty at trial.
