Can I Afford a Lawyer?

Do you need a Raleigh Criminal Defense Attorney?

So you just got arrested or charged with a crime, or possibly you got a call from a police officer who just “wants to talk with you.”  This is not the time to go it alone.  Criminal charges never come at a good time, but when they do come, a good Raleigh defense lawyer has to be your first priority.  This is the rainy day, the rock and the hard place you were warned about.  No one budgets for a criminal defense lawyer.  But when the time comes, your defense is the most important thing in your life.  So much is riding on it.

A criminal charge can stay on your record forever!

These days, people are charged with crimes for a bewildering array of reasons, many times for actions they had no idea were criminal.  Penalties for criminal convictions now reach far beyond the jail sentence or probation you will serve.  Your ability to obtain credit, get a mortgage or student loan, get a job requiring a license, or do any of the hundreds of things that require a criminal background check can be destroyed.  A criminal conviction will be on your record for life.  A criminal charge on your record is not the kind of first impression anyone wants with potential employers.

Raleigh Criminal Defense Lawyer

You need a good defense lawyer. The reality is that you will need to pay him or her.  You probably will have to pay more than you expect, and you will have to pay up front.  Most criminal defense lawyers charge flat fees, payable at the beginning of the case.  Some like my office offer payment plans.

Every case is a top priority at The Law Offices of Wiley Nickel, PLLC in Cary, NC.

You deserve to be defended by someone who takes the time to get to know you, who puts up a fight for you and cares what happens to you.  You may not be able to “afford” a good criminal defense lawyer.  You definitely can’t afford not to hire one.
